United Methodist Women Fellowship Groups at Vermont Street
Mary Martha Fellowship, 9:30 AM, featuring a business meeting, a program, devotions and fellowship.
Deborah Ruth Fellowship, 9:30 AM, features hands-on projects that benefit our church and community missions.
Dolphine Fellowship, 7:00 PM, featuring a business meeting, a program, devotions and fellowship for those who work.
Monthly Collection Box
Collections of Christmas gifts for institutions are requested each month. A list of appropriate items are suggested that are needed by the residents of Chaddock, Cunningham Children’s Home, Sunset Home and a handicapped adult home.
Members save the box tops and UPC codes from the following products for cashing in for funds to support our missions.
Fundraisers – Labels
Box Tops for Education: General Mills, Cottonelle, Pillsbury, Huggies, Fiber One, Ziploc, Green Giant, Hefty, El Paso, Nature Valley, and Avery Office Supplies.
UPC Codes: Campbell Soups, V8, Prego, Franco-American, Pepperidge Farm, and Swanson
UPC Codes: all Hy-Vee and Midwest Country Fare brand products.
Fundraisers – Events
Annual Spring Rummage Sale is held 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. This is a major fundraiser for UMW that helps us to support all our missions. Rummage is collected from church members. We welcome buyers from throughout the community.
Annual Fall Bazaar is in October, 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The sale of crafts and baked goods provides the funds to support our mission giving. A homemade meal is served from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Carry-outs are also available.
Rada Cutlery items are available for sale at the Fall Bazaar. Healthy Recipe Cookbooks are also sold at the Bazaar. Recipes are all tried and true and contributed by our church members.
Quincy Service League Gift Show is held on the Saturday and Sunday before Thanksgiving at the Quincy Senior High School. Our UMW booth is filled with holiday crafts.
The annual Cookie Walk is held on a Sunday morning in December and features 3 tables of homemade cookies, candy and Holiday treats and is very popular with our customers.
Salvation Army Dress An Angel each Spring provides over 200 Easter outfits for boys and girls.
Bazaar Workshops are held monthly February through June and weekly September until our Bazaar. Handmade crafts are created at these workshops to sell at the Fall Bazaar.
Apple Butter Day is a workday held in September as soon as the local cooking apples ripen. We have canned this delicious apple butter for many years and it is sold in pint jars at the Fall Bazaar.
Washington School Santa’s Workshop in December is one of our projects for which we provide assistance to students in making a craft for gift giving.
